To place a bid, you must first register your name, address and phone number either online or over the phone. A credit card number is requested for registration. If any item receives a bid within the last minute or less of it’s closing time, the auction for that item only will be extended 10 minutes, and won’t close until such time no bids are received for a complete 10 minutes. All subsequent items will continue to close at their normal time until such time a bid is received with one minute or less remaining.BIDDING (PHONE/INTERNET) We will be accepting bids via mail, email, phone and internet. All bidders must be registered by Adventure House to accept your bid. To place an internet bid, go to www.adventurehouse.com and click on the AUCTION link. You may view the items, check current bids and place bids at the auction site. Remember, you must be registered to bid. The site will allow you to browse each item, view image(s) of each item and also place bids. There are two fields in which to place a bid. One field to leave a BID equalling the opening bid, or at least 10% above the highest bid shown, as well as another field which will allow you to place a MAX BID, which will allow our system to bid for you up until you reach that MAX BID amount. Please note that a MAX BID might be less than a 10% increment, but we will accept that MAX BID as a high bid if it exceeds another bidder’s HIGH BID or MAX BID amount. BIDDING INCREMENTS The first bid regardless of method of acceptance, that matches or exceeds the opening bid becomes the high bid. Any subsequent high bids must exceed the high bid by at least 10%. Note that pre-placed MAX BIDS may ultimately exceed the next high bid by less than 10%. TERMS OF SALE Buyer Premium for this auction is 10%. A winning bid of $100 will be charged $110, which includes the 10% buyer premium.
All items are sold to the high bidder.
The bidder accepts the conditions of sale stated as follows by placing a bid by any means we accept.
Each item has a opening or reserve bid. The first person to match or exceed that bid will be designated as the high bidder. The item will be sold to the high bidder unless another bidder exceeds the high bid with an increment bid of 10% or higher. Note that pre-placed Max Bids may ultimately exceed the next high bid by less than 10%. Bids are viewable online throughout the bid process, as soon as the items are listed as available for auction.
Tie bids will be decided by the earliest bid received.
Winning bidders will pay winning bid amount, shipping/handling, buyers premium, and insurance (if requested). Adventure House will ship items via FedEx Ground, FedEx Air and the United State Postal Service. Adventure House will declare the full value of each package going to a winning bidder residing outside of the United States.
All winning bidders living within Maryland will pay 6% sales tax, unless the winning bidder provides a re-sale number.
Adventure House reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Adventure House also reserves the right to limit the number of inquiries and bids accepted by phone during the live bid process.
We cannot accept a bid request to “top all other bidders.” We will however, be happy to accept and execute a high bid request. If your high bid request is topped, we will be happy to try to call back (if requested) to receive further directions for additional bids. We cannot be held responsible or liable for failing to execute the bidders high bid. Adventure House may at our discretion re-open the bidding on a specific item.
All bidders must be registered with Adventure House. Registration includes name, address, phone number, email address and a credit card, unless prior arrangements have been made with Adventure House. If the winning bidder prefers to pay by check, money order or by Paypal, those payment arrangements must be made in advance of the auction.
Internet bidding is occurring at the same time and high bids will be updated immediately. We will have a number of phone lines open for phone bids, but we have a limited staff. Please do not leave messages on any answering system, as we will not have the time to check those messages. Please continue to call back until you reach an employee. The auction will have a rolling close with each block of items closing in 5 minute intervals. For those who have questions about the items, feel free to call any time prior to final day of bidding. We will not be able to give descriptions over the phone the final day.
Canceled bids. Adventure House will not accept any canceled bids the day of the auction. If you need to cancel your bid, you must do so no later than 24 hours prior to that lot closing.
All winning bidders must pay for their items within 14 days. Adventure House cannot assume any responsibility for errors or omissions in the bid amount or item numbers made by the bidder. Please check your bids to be certain of your bids prior to the final day. An error by Adventure House in description, condition or inability to ship an item are the only cause for a refund. Request for a refund must be made within 5 days of receiving the item.
All sales are final. Full payment is due 14 days after the close of auction. Personal checks from a first time buyer could require a two week hold to clear the bank. Payment by credit card or by Paypal will require a 3% processing fee on final invoice amount. All winning bidders are contractually obligated to pay for their items within the 14 day window. |
