 | TITLE: A GENT FROM BEAR CREEK by Robert E. Howard DATE: 1937 - CONDITION: VG CONDITION: This copy is one of approximately nine copies known to exist. Published in England by Herbert Jenkins. This copy is without an original dust jacket, and the full color beauty you see here is a high quality replica, printed on heavier than normal paper and protected by a mylar dust jacket sleeve. The boards are above average with some minor bumps at the each end of the spine. The contents page, (shown to the left) has some foxing, but the paper is very nice and all pages and binding are tight. The book has some shelf dust soiling to top paper edge. The spine shows some wear and minor fading. There are few chances that arrive in one's collecting lifetime in which a copy (especially in this condition) is available on the open market. Some have called this the Holy Grail of Robert E. Howard collectors. As far as scarcity, there are fewer copies of this book available then that of Tarzan of the Apes first edition. VALUE: ESTIMATED VALUE - $10,000-$20,000
